Change your Distance Units

We all know that units of measurement can vary based on where you're located, namely between metric units (km) and imperial units (miles). To keep things simple and most accurate when using PlugShare, we recommend that you match the distance units displayed in your PlugShare account to your vehicle's method of measurement. 

So if you are driving a vehicle whose distance units are different from your PlugShare account settings - maybe you've rented an electric vehicle abroad or the default wasn't correct - you'll want to change the distance units displayed in your PlugShare account. Select your platform below for specific details on updating the distance units shown in your account:

Change distance units on Android

  1. From the landing page, select "Me" on the bottom of the screen
  2. Within the "Me" page, select "Settings" towards the middle of the menu
  3. Tap "Distance Units" from the Settings page
  4. Select the option you prefer (miles or kilometers)

 

 

Change Distance Units on iOS (Apple)

  1. From the landing page, select "Me" on the bottom of the screen
  2. Within the "Me" page, select "Change Distance Units" toward the middle of the first menu
  3. PlugShare for iOS will display distance units based on the predominant distance units of your location. To change the default, tap the toggle "Override Distance Units"
  4. When enabled, you can select Miles or Kilometers
    • Your selection will appear in white (with the other grayed out); the screenshot below confirms the distance units are set to miles
  5. Your selections will save automatically, so "Me" on the top left to go back

 

 

Change Distance Units on the Web (plugshare.com)

  1. Click the three lines (hamburger menu) on the top left to open the main menu
  2. Select "Settings" toward the middle of the menu options
  3. A pop-up window will include an option to change "Units"
  4. Select "Imperial" for miles or "Metric" for kilometers
  5. Your selections will save automatically, so click out of the box when you're finished
